Jonydžių piliakalnis

Jonydžių piliakalnis is hidden in the Anykščiai region, Jonydžių village, Skiemonių seniūnija. To reach it, follow the Molėtai–Anykščiai road. Turn off at junction 119 and continue until the hill rises before you. The hill fort, carved out of a separate hill and fortified with earth ramparts on the northwest side, stands at the edge of grassy hills. In 1972, it was mainly bypassed by bulldozers, but the damage was localized. The upper part of the hill fort is oval and overlaps earlier fortifications, while the lower is rectangular. An area of around 2.5 hectares around the site contained up to 80 cm thick layers of archaeological remains from the farming village of the 18th to 19th centuries. Evidence of earlier cultural activities were also found.
