Tucked away in the forest of Varnupio, a hidden hillfort waits to be discovered. Accessible by a trail starting from Skiemonys, it can be found atop several hills. Its oval shape has a diameter of about 20x16 meters and is protected by ditches. Approximately 5 meters high, it is a remarkable remnant of the Iron Age, dating back to the 1st millennium BCE to the 1st century CE. A tank-like structure can be found near the hillfort. Gintautas Zabiela mentions the hillfort in the supplement to the new list of Lithuanian hillforts (1995–2000). Vykintas Vaitkevičius and Gintautas Zabiela mention the hillfort in Archaeological Investigations in Lithuania 2000.
