Terms of use
Effective 2026-08-22
These terms govern your use of reveal.world. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Who these terms are with
reveal.world is operated by TTSN Web and Social Networks Software AB ("we", "us"), registered in Sweden. Questions about these terms go to ns@reveal.world.
Your account
You can read reveal.world without an account. To publish a story, save a list, like a story or post a comment, you sign in with Google or Apple.
You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep access to your sign-in provider secure, and tell us if you believe someone else is using your account. You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account.
Content you create belongs to you
You keep ownership of the stories, images, lists and comments you create. We do not claim authorship of your work, and nothing here transfers your copyright to us.
By publishing on reveal.world you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, translate and distribute your content on the site and in the apps and feeds that carry it. The licence lasts for as long as you keep the content published, plus a short period afterwards for backups and caches to clear.
That licence also lets us mention and feature your content — for example in collections, walking routes, newsletters, previews, social posts and other material promoting reveal.world — with attribution to you as the author. If you would rather your work were not used in promotion, write to us and we will stop.
What you promise about your content
When you publish something, you confirm that:
- it is yours to publish, or you have permission from whoever owns it
- it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights
- it is not unlawful, hateful, harassing, defamatory or deliberately misleading
- any images you upload are ones you have the right to use
The site itself is proprietary
Everything that makes up reveal.world other than user-created content — the software, design, layout, interface, name, logo, editorial material we produce ourselves, and the compilation, structure, arrangement and selection of the database as a whole — is owned by us or licensed to us. All rights are reserved.
You may read the site, share links to it, and quote short extracts with attribution and a link. You may not, without our written permission:
- copy, republish, sell or redistribute the content, in whole or in substantial part
- scrape, crawl for bulk extraction, mirror, or systematically download the site or its database
- use the content to train, fine-tune or evaluate machine-learning models
- remove or obscure attribution, or present our content as your own
- reverse-engineer the site, or interfere with its security, rate limits or infrastructure
Acceptable use
Use the site lawfully and in a way that does not degrade it for others. Do not attempt to gain access to accounts, data or systems you are not entitled to, and do not upload malware or automate abuse of our forms and APIs.
Moderation and removal
We may review, hide, edit or remove any content, and suspend or close any account, where we reasonably believe these terms have been broken or the law requires it. Where it is practical and lawful to do so, we will tell you why.
If you think something on the site infringes your rights, write to us with a link and an explanation and we will look into it.
Accuracy of the stories
Stories on reveal.world are historical and cultural accounts written by their authors. We try to keep them accurate, but we do not guarantee that any story is complete, current or free of error, and you should not rely on them as professional, legal or safety advice.
Locations, opening hours and access details change. Check the ground truth before travelling somewhere, and respect private property, restricted sites and local law when visiting a place you read about here.
Links and third-party services
The site links to third-party sites and embeds third-party services such as maps and sign-in. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their practices. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.
Availability and liability
The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free, and we may change or discontinue features.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Ending your use
You can stop using the site or close your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive — content licences already granted, the proprietary-rights section, and the liability limits — continue to apply after your account is closed.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Swedish law, and disputes fall to the Swedish courts. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the effective date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will make it clear on the site. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
