Born in Tremezzo in 1845, Enrico Carli died in Milano in November 1898. A member of the Accademia di Agricoltura, Scienze e Lettere in Verona, he studied at Milano. After graduating from Milano in 1867, he moved to Verona, where he was tasked with studying a project for an industrial canal to power the burgeoning industry of Verona. His work on this project, known as the Canal Camuzzoni, was completed in 1885. In Verona, he also worked on various engineering and architectural projects.
One such project was an agricultural colony for mentally ill patients in San Giacomo in Tomba, which he designed and helped to expand. Another notable project he undertook was for the construction of the flood defenses and the aqueduct in Verona after the 1882 flood. This aqueduct became operational in 1886. After this, he worked on the aqueduct in Mantua. He continued to work on hydraulic projects in Lombardy until his death in 1898. He was buried in the Tremezzo family vault in the Tremezzo cemetery.
