Uncovering the Past: A Journey through Time at Migonių Hill

In the Kaišiadoriai region, south of Migonių village (Kruonė Eldership), lies the nondescript 11-16 meter high Migonių piliakalnis. This hill, with its striking oval pit measuring 9 x 16 meters, encompasses a narrative spanning a millennium. The platform offering access to a 25 x 2-meter area and a residential zone with cultural layers up to 0.5 meters thick was discovered through excavations conducted by Vilnius University and the Institute of History of Lithuania in 1954-1955 and 1957.
