The Gudžioniai hillfort, located near the confluence of the Lokio and Neries rivers in the Jonava Region municipalities, stands out for its impressive heights. With heights varying from 30 meters to 2.5 meters above the ground, it is one of the tallest hillforts in the region. The hillfort has an oval shape, 70 x 56 meters in size. Archaeologists from the Lithuanian Institute of History excavated the hillfort in 1971, and the findings from the excavation are preserved at the Lithuanian National Museum. The 1975 archaeological study conducted by the Board for the Protection of Cultural Property of Lithuania revealed many insights into the lives of ancient Lithuanians, which were published in the Lithuanian Archaeology Atlas, Volume 2.
