Centuries-Old Iron Age Mystery in Senosios Ėpilties I

Hidden in Senoja Ėpiltyje's forest, near the Baltic Sea, is Senosios Ėpilties I. This Iron Age archaeological site has a registered cultural heritage code of 5244. The first mention of the site was in a 1899 manuscript by Fedor Pokrovsky, and later in a 1928 publication by Petro Tarasenko. It was declared a cultural heritage site in 1972, registered in the register of cultural heritage monuments in 1992, published as a cultural heritage site in 1998, protected as a cultural heritage site in 2005, and recognized as an important cultural heritage site in 2007.
