Rumbonių hillfort, a unique cultural object (MC code 22606), is located in Mikutiškiai, Alytus region, in the bend of the Nemuno river, 800 meters to the right. The hillfort, oval in shape, with a diameter of 10x9 meters, is surrounded by a ditch on all sides. Constructed between the 1st to 2nd centuries AD, the hillfort is 1.5 meters high at the base and 4.5 meters high at the top, 7 meters wide at the base and 20 meters wide at the top. Notably, the hillfort's height reaches up to 2.5 meters, providing a panoramic view over the surrounding area.
A 4-meter wide platform, 0.8 meters high, is located 10 meters below the summit, an unfinished elevation. Statues of various heights, 12-30 meters, encircle the hillfort. The hillfort was fortified: the northern part is encircled by ditches, the western part has ramparts. 1953 marked the year the hillfort's study was published, and the settlement excavation was carried out in 1969 by the Alytus Regional Museum (Director Dalia Andrašiūnaitė). An area of 51 m² was excavated, dating back to the 1st to 2nd centuries AD.
