Iron Age Hillfort with Visible Ditch Discovered in Alytaus Rajono Savivaldybe,

Margaravos piliakalnis, Raudondvarias Kalnas, Margirio kalnas, Dubiai, Keders Kalnas - a hillfort located in Alytaus Rajono Savivaldybe's territory, Margarava or Margaravos kaimas, Alytus seniunija. It is accessed by roads going from Panemunę to Margarava, turning left towards a 300-meter-long field, close to Nemunas, through which it leads to Nemunas slope, passing through a 30-meter-wide gap in the west, near the countryside cemetery, where there is a hillfort site with ramparts, ditches, and a 0.2-hectare living area at its top. Remains of pottery have been found in its living area. Margaravos piliakalnis was built in the I-II centuries AD. The altitude of the hillfort is about 4 meters.
