Pabalčių piliakalnis, sighted on the left bank of the Balčios river, 5 km southwest of Nemakščių and 5 km east of Jauniškė, is an age-old relic significant to Lithuania's history. The triangular-shaped mound measures 26 meters in length and width at the top, and at its apex, a 60-meter-long, 4-meter-high terrace can be found. The eastern side boasts a 4-meter-high terrace.
An 8-meter-deep, 1-meter-wide ditch is present on the eastern side of the mound, while the statues stand 15 meters high. Ancient relics, such as pottery and other artifacts, were discovered within the area to the right and left of Pabalčių piliakalnis, covering 1 hectare. This mound was once part of the Milžavos castle, constructed from 1385–1386.
Although the reason for its construction remains uncertain, Pabalčių piliakalnis continues to fascinate visitors, making it a must-see for those intrigued by Lithuania's history and archaeology.
