Stockholm's first genuine nightclub, Grotta Azzurra, opens in the 1920s. In her 1982 autobiography 'Mina sju liv', actress Annalisa Ericsson writes: "The illegally run den, the cellar with club cards, a Stockholm's own Sodom and Gomorrah, was called Grotta Azzurra and was located at Grev Magnigatan 5 on Östermalm. The nightclub opened at midnight, and after a while, it was usually full in the cramped venue."
