Stand at the edge of Gintališkės, a remote hamlet in Plungė region, and look beyond the nearby fields to the north. There, on a hill 10-14 metres high, you can see Pilė, known locally as Pilė, which has been eroded and has collapsed in places, leaving depressions in its slopes. The area is approximately 65 x 60 metres, although it has been eroded to 57 metres long, 8 metres high and 50 metres wide. There is a hollow in the northeast, 7.5 metres deep and 2 metres wide, and a sunken pit to its west, 8 metres long, 7.5 metres high and 5 metres wide.
The hill has been heavily eroded: the slopes are eroding, the hill is collapsing. Within this site, three archaeological sites have been found through excavations conducted by Kauno kultūros muziejus and Telšių kraštotos muzejos muziejus. Artifacts found in the excavation include various tools, vessels, jewelry, insignia, and other items. The site is listed in the Directory of the Cultural Monuments of Lithuania.
