The Enigmatic Stones of Gegrėnai: The Older and the Newer

In the Plungė district, near Gegrėnai, lies a pair of enigmatic stones. The larger, known as Gegrėnų II piliakalnis, was built in the second half of the 16th century. It covers an area of 110x100 meters and features a 40-meter wide, 1-meter deep, 10-meter wide stone platform in the center. The older stone, Gegrėnų I piliakalnis, is square-shaped and measures 48x27 meters. There is a 0.2-meter high, 4.5-meter wide gap between the two stones, and the southern side of the larger stone is lined with smaller stones.
