In the Pakraštyje area of Plungė Regional Municipality lies Pilies kalna, an ancient hillfort unveiled by Adolfas Tautavičius in 1966. Remnants of ceramic pottery still lie hidden within its grounds, earning it a place in the Cultural Heritage Register of Lithuania in 1992, with a unique code 5496 and registered number AR810. Pilies kalna stands on a hillier ground, historically named Pilies kalna, in the forested area known as Pilies kalvo, between Žemaičių Kalvarija, Gegrėnai, and Medsėdžiai. It is interesting to note that it lies approximately 1.3 kilometers west of Pūčkorių I hillfort, 0.45 kilometers east of a chapel, and 1.6 kilometers north of III hillfort.
