Located in the Alytaus region of Lithuania, the Einoronių hillfort is an enigma of Lithuanian history. With an oval-shaped hillfort mound, approximately 70x30 meters in size and 2 meters high in the northwestern part, it is a testament to the military prowess of the Iron Age. The northwestern part of the hillfort mound has a triple-terraced slope, approximately 30x25 meters in size and an average of 2 meters high. The hillfort mound is enclosed by a band of colossal stone structures.
According to the sources, excavations of the hillfort were conducted in 1971 and it is dated to the Iron Age or Early Middle Ages, as the sources do not specify an exact date. Despite some evidence of cultural heritage, the preservation is not well-maintained at the site. In 2001, E. Ivanauskas discovered a 8 m² plot containing more than 60 cm of cultural stratum with burnt bricks and shards of pottery. The hillfort is protected by the decision of the Culture Minister of the Republic of Lithuania and is registered in the List of Cultural Heritage Monuments of the Republic of Lithuania.
