Once lost, the entrance of the Cueva de Santa Ana, in Cáceres Province, Spain, is now a welcoming sight for visitors seeking a glimpse into the mysterious past. What makes this cave worth a visit? In a sondeo of 5 meters, seven strata were recognized, each revealing more about the cave's complex formation. These strata contain archaeological material, coal, and remains of fauna. Notably, Unit 1 is formed by a centimeter to decimeter breach with irregular, centimeter to decimeter caliza blocks surrounded by a matrix of sand, limos and clays. Unit 7, the last fill in the cave's interior, contains more of these precious archaeological relics, composed of limo and clay.
