Cal Mestre Millet: The Birthplace of Musician Lluís Millet i Pagès

Cal Mestre Millet is a local cultural heritage site located in El Masnou. This historic manor is the birthplace of the musician Lluís Millet i Pagès, who founded the Orfeó Català. Built in 1853 by Salvador Millet i Estaper, the house was the residence of the Millet family until 2015. A marble plaque on the facade marks the centenary of Lluís Millet i Pagès' birth.

The rectangular building consists of a ground floor, a first floor, and a usable roof. The facade features two axes of openings: a main entrance and a barred window on the ground level, and a balcony with a stone sill and a window on the first floor. In the rear, the house features a two-level terrace. The lower level features a mosaic-covered gallery with majolica balustrades, leading to a garden area and at the back, under the vault, the water cistern, the entrance to the water mine, and formerly, the communal area.

The interior rooms are decorated with majolica balustrades, painted walls, and ceilings. This residence serves as a testament to the history of Lluís Millet i Pagès, who was born here on April 18, 1867. It remains a protected cultural asset in the Maresme region, preserving the atmosphere of a mid-19th-century home.
