Situated in Veiviržėnai, along a bend in a river, this Iron Age hillfort is hidden in a forested valley near Meiskiūs, Klaipėda region. The fort has a square shape, with 60 meters length (east-west), 30 meters width in the north, and 12-14 meters height. The first gate is located north of the mound. The second gate is located west of the fort, adjacent to Graužupio river, in a separate valley. The gate’s structure was built directly on the mound. The mound and the gates were first discovered in archaeological excavations in 1905 and were stabilized in 2003-2004. A cultural layer with ceramic, iron, and stone artifacts was found in the excavation. The mound and the gates are approximately 12-14 meters tall.
