The Tavole Palatine are the remains of a hexastyle peripteral Greek temple of Magna Graecia, dedicated to the goddess Hera and the god Apollo. The temple, located near the Bradano river in south Italy, was part of a countryside sanctuary. Remnants of the wall of the temenos and of a very ancient altar are visible. Though it was initially attributed to the cult of Athena, a fragment of a vase found in the 1920s revealed the temple was dedicated to Hera. The Tavole Palatine were locally known as Mensole Palatine or Colonne Palatine in the Middle Ages. They were also called the School of Pythagoras.
