The stone fort on the lake shore

The hill fort near Juodžių ežeras was a settlement site in the 1st century BCE to the 1st century CE. The hill, 0.5 to 1 meter high, 4 to 16 meters deep, was fortified with stone structures. The site is located on the Juodžių lake shore, in the northwest. Archaeological research conducted in 1971 by the Historical Institute identified that the hill fort dates back to the 1st century BCE to the 1st century CE. A settlement existed near the hill fort, dating back to the same time period.
