The Return of a Spanish Landmark: Casa Navàs Raises to the Skyline in Reus Once

Casa Navàs, a modernist building in the city of Reus, Catalonia, Spain, designed by acclaimed Catalan architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, was constructed from 1901 to 1908. The building had a tower on the left facade, but it was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War and never rebuilt. The interior of Casa Navàs includes marble works by Alfons Juyol i Bach, paintings by Tomàs Bergadà, furniture by Gaspar Homar, and ceramics by Hipòlit Montseny, all of them under the instructions of Lluís Domènech i Montaner. Today, the building is still the same as it was originally, except for the absent tower. However, work is underway for its reconstruction. The project is expected to be completed in early 2026.
