The mountain that bears the name of electricity

The Chulilla Castle, also known as Castillo Relámpago, is situated in Chulilla, in the Valencian Community, Spain. Its strategic location on a hill overlooking the town makes it the core of the village, not only because it was inhabited by populations during the Bronze Age, but also because its remains reflect the historical significance of the town and the unusual character it imparts. Originally built during the Roman period, only the aljibe remains today. During the Muslim Al-Andalus period, the castle was established on the upper platform of the mountain, consisting of a tower with its aljibe at the base and walls made of mampostería and tapial. Its function during this time was to control communication routes and serve as refuge for surrounding villagers.
