The Fortín de Reina Regente, a 19th-century architectural marvel, resides in the embrace of Melilla, Spain. Classified as a historic asset, it was created between 1884 and 1885 to safeguard the revered zone of Reina Regente and the Cañada de Hidum from the rifeños. This fortress is part of a larger group of outside fortifications, known as ‘Fuertes exteriores’. In the year 1982, the original wooden structure on its upper levels was replaced by strong bodevilla structures made of reinforced concrete. Situated near the Acuartelamiento Millan Astray, its charming neomedieval style is easily discernible under the soft glow of twilight. The fort's ground level is designed in a dodecagonal plan, while the upper floor boasts a circular one, adorned with battlements. The fort's sturdy stone walls stand side by side with bricked arches, displaying its unique character as the night shrouds all.
