Fuerte del Rosario is a fortress located in the Cubo area on Avenida Cándido Lobera in the Spanish city of Melilla. It is part of the city's historical artistic ensemble and is designated as a bien de interés cultural.
The fortress is part of the Cuarto Recinto Fortificado de Melilla. It was constructed when an artillery battery was added to the Torre del Rosario, which dates from between 1735 and 1736, in 1778.
The site has undergone modern restoration to preserve its structure. The north end, the Torre del Rosario, was rehabilitated between March and October 2013. From 2018 to 2019, the battery, flank with ditch and counterscarp, bridge, gola, interior, roofs, and vaults were restored, with the work being completed in January 2019.
Constructed as a rectangular fortress, it was built using local stone for the walls and solid brick for the arches and vaults. The structure includes a battery accessible from a ramp and a series of underground vaults.
