The Indonesian Production of the CASA C-212 Aviocar Expands Global Reach

The CASA C-212 Aviocar, a medium-sized cargo aircraft, was initially produced in Spain in the 1970s. In 1975, Indonesian aircraft company IPTN secured the rights to license-produce the C-212 in Bandung, Indonesia, with assistance from the Spanish manufacturer. By 2000, over 95 NC212s had been produced, with the majority being sold to domestic customers. The CASA C-212 Aviocar is still in production, having been produced in Indonesia for over 40 years, thereby expanding the global reach of the CASA C-212 Aviocar through this Indonesian manufacturing base.
