The Dante Monument in Madrid's Retiro Park is a testament to the enduring influence of Italian writer Dante Alighieri (1265-1321). Created by Italian artist Angelo Biancini in 1968, it stands approximately 5 meters long and 2.2 meters tall. Divided thematically into three sections, the monument offers a visual journey through the life and work of Dante Alighieri. In the center, the figure of the writer in high relief is shown. To the left, four cities linked to his life: Florence, Ravenna, Siena, and Rome. To the right, representations of Dante’s most famous work, Divine Comedy: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. The monument was installed in May 1969.
