The hillfort with a stone wall 8 meters high

The hillfort (Švedų Kalnas) is located near Švedų kalnas hill, in Molėtų rajono savivaldybės territorijoje. The site is protected by a conservation zone of 541000 m². The hillfort, with a square shape, enclosed by a ditch 172 meters long, has an inner fortification 8 meters high at its highest point, but 4 meters at its lowest. The outer fortification has 11-13 meter high ramps that surround it. The hillfort was enclosed by a wooden palisade and earthworks. The archaeological site has received attention from the Institute of History since 1970. The site, located near Švedų kalnas hill, has a living area of 0.3 hectares, where remains of pottery, brick, and wooden items were found. The site was declared a cultural monument by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania in 1998.
