Remains of a 3000-year old Egyptian fortress found in Bendžiukai hillfort

Recent excavations in Bendžiukai hillfort, a rural region in Lithuania, have uncovered remains of an ancient site. The hillfort itself dates back to the second half of the first millennium BC to the second half of the second millennium AD. About 200 meters to the north of the hillfort, there is another hill, where remains of wood-fired pottery have been found, and it is believed to have been inhabited from the 1st century BC to the 6th century AD. Unfortunately, the hillfort was destroyed in the 1940s.
