The Riddle of Gaudučiū Hillfort: Unveiling the Ancient Mysteries of the Coast

Venture into the realm of the arcane as we delve into the enigmatic past, unraveling the hidden stories of power, conflict, and mystery that define the Alantap coast. An unsolved puzzle, waiting to be deciphered.

Situated deep within a concealed valley along the Alantap coast, the cryptic Gaudučiū hillfort rises like a grim sentinel. Surrounded by whispers of a time long vanished, it covers a vast 2.7404 hectares, its diameter at the summit reaching a staggering 42 meters. Its original moniker, Zablockio pilale, holds a veiled secret, a vestige of an untold history apart from the other hills in the area. Yet the question remains: who built their fortress atop this hill in an era long past, and where did the fabled city hide among the hill's terraced walls?

The hillfort's stone was coveted by the neighboring tribes, with evidence suggesting its use in constructing their own forts. A cursory glance at its terrace walls reveals segments of south-west to north-east trenches, colloquially known as Pilale, soaring a daunting 6 meters high. 19th-century archaeological investigations offered some initial insight, dating the site to the 1st millennium, leaving a myriad of untold stories waiting to be discovered.
