Situated in the heart of the Kačaičiai forest lies Kačaičių piliakalnis, a classified archaeological site known locally as Pilalė. Spanning roughly 3.5 hectares, the site carries us back to the Middle Ages. Although its purpose remains elusive, tantalizing tales propose that it may have once served as a hideout for plundering pirates before they confronted the Lithuanian forces migrating to Sweden. The site is encircled by various mounds and recognized as a cultural monument, registered on the Immovable Cultural Heritage of Lithuania.
