The partially hidden hillfort of Pasamanė, located in a separate hill near Samanio lake, dates back to the Iron Age. Excavated by the Lithuanian History Institute in 1991, this hillfort is oval in shape with a diameter of 40x25 meters and a height of 2 meters. Its walls, though buried and partially visible, stand up to an impressive 10 meters tall. The hillfort is situated in the Ignalina region, a short distance from Pasamanė, and features no natural defensive walls. The hillfort area is registered until February 19, 2005. The excavation area covers 0.3 hectares, while a protected area spans 19,000 square meters. A visual protection zone of 3,502,000 square meters has also been established.
