Located on the peak of a hill, on Gelžupis' left bank, the hillfort rises approximately 11 meters into the sky. The oval ditch of the hillfort is 22x14 meters in size, 1 meter deep, 0.7 meters wide, and 0.7 meters deep in the center. Known as Šiuraičiiai hillfort, or Švedkalnis, it is one of the last surviving examples of Lithuania's ancient hillforts. Dated to the First Millennium BC – the 13th century AD, its exact purpose remains a mystery, but it is believed to have served as a defense structure or religious site. Today, it stands as a silent guardian of ancient stories, a reminder of the past tucked away in the forests of Rietavo municipality.
