The Dolbury hill fort

The Iron Age hill fort or enclosure at Killerton Park in Devon, England, is known locally as Dolbury. Situated on a hilltop 128 meters above sea level, it has a flat promontory jutting out near the River Culm, which bends around its northern side. The name 'Dolbury' means 'castle hill' in Old English and reflects its strategic location, a feature that may not be as visually striking from the M5 motorway. The hill fort's location in the Culm Valley is what makes it an intriguing site, even if one has to use their imagination to fully appreciate it.
