Spinsters' Rock, a Neolithic dolmen, is not hidden nor a ‘gem’. It lies in a field on Shilstone Farm, just off the A382 west of Drewsteigton. It has three granite supports, with heights between 1.7 and 2.3 meters, and a flat capstone of 4.5 by 3.1 meters. The stones are among the many megaliths built across Dartmoor thousand of years ago, but unlike most, Spinsters' Rock has collapsed and was restored in 1862. However, few nearby free-standing stones align with Spinsters' Rock. The site has no finds to report, and 18th-century reports of nearby stone circles are in doubt.
