The abandoned Spanish settlement of Fuentes

Fuentes, a Spanish site located in Segovia, Castilla y León, was once a vibrant part of Carbonero el Mayor. Its urbanism and the church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, however, are now ruins today. Fuentes' economy was based on work in the lime kilns, the production of bricks, agriculture, and animal husbandry. The decline of its population began at the end of the 19th century and was mostly abandoned by the mid-20th century. The church in Fuentes is a single-nave building with a crossing and a flat choir. The church, built masonry and good ashlar in special places, has a bell tower at the feet. The main entrance to the church is on the northern wall.
