Discovering the time-laden puzzle of Betiškių piliakalnis

Betiškių piliakalnis, hidden in Betiškėse, Zarasaus regionės priembegėje, can be reached from various directions. Take the path from Vencavai – Sadūnai, veer left towards the north for 1.3 km, then 0.77 km to the right, in the western part, near an electrical line at an altitude of about 8 meters. The hillfort is a separate hillock, steep with a height of 23 meters and an average width of 1 meter. The slopes are steep, around 8 meters high. The hillfort is heavily fortified, with ditches, and a ditch on the northern slope deepens towards the west. According to the Historical Institute's studies, this hillfort sheds light on our past, is linked to a settlement, and potentially played a role in defense creation.
