Recent discoveries at the Roman Forum in Mérida

The Roman Forum in Mérida, Spain is an archaeological site that was the main public area of the Roman city of Emerita Augusta, founded in 25 BC by Emperor Augustus. The city's ruins, which have been preserved for approximately 2000 years, contain many common places found in a Roman city, such as theatres, temples, forums, and arenas. A recent study led by Mario Gutiérrez-Rodríguez of the University of Jaén used drones and non-invasive techniques to reconstruct the urban structure of the Forum.
