Pre-Christian Settlement at Akvieriškės piliakalnis

Akvieriškės piliakalnis is an archaeological site and a settlement, located in Švenčioniys region, Lithuania. Mapped as an archaeological site and a habitation, it is officially known as Akvieriškės piliakalnis. The site rises about 7 meters high and covers an area of approximately 54 x 27 meters, with a dark cultural layer. The mounds at the top were fortified, starting from the bottom. Excavations conducted in 1894 by Fiodoras Pokrovskis and in 1958 by the Lithuanian History Institute revealed various artifacts such as stone tools, ceramic fragments, and bronze objects. The settlement dates back to the pre-Christian period and the 1st to 4th centuries AD. Akvieriškės piliakalnis was registered until 2005-02-19 with code A1059KP and is part of the Collections of the Museum of the History of Lithuania and the National Museum of Lithuania.
