Nestled in the wilderness of Vėlionių, Ignalina District, Lithuania, this fortified relic, partially concealed by earthworks, can be traced back to the early chapters of the first millennium. The fort's enigmatic entrance, a triangular structure, is guarded by a perimeter of posts, with each post standing around 15 meters tall, encompassing a central pit spanning roughly 20 meters in width and a depth of 1.5 meters, positioned on an elevation of 8 meters. Sprawling across a base length of 16 meters and a width of 8.5 meters, this stone fort stands 450 meters from the road connecting Urvyniškė to Sėnasis Daugėliškis. With questions still looming large as to the purpose of this historical edifice, scholars theorize that it was the work of one of Europe's early farming communities, an unsolved riddle yet to be deciphered.
