Mysteries of the Iron Age: Pavištytis 1st Hillfort

Pavištytis 1st Hillfort, located in Vilkaviškio rajono savivaldybėje, is a testament to the Iron Age. The fortress was built in the Iron Age and measures approximately 30 meters high by 34 meters wide in the northwest-southeast part. Upon closer examination, one can see that it is riddled with burnt bricks and multiple entries. The height of the fortress ranges from 1.5 to 30 meters. The territory it covers spans 49 hectares and is protected by the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture.
