Welcome, one and all, to the peculiar ecosystem of Šukių Piliakalnis; an oval mound that's been towering over the petite town of Juozapavas like a Who over a Whoville, and posing more questions than an apophasis contest. For instance, it rises majestically to a height of 34 meters, with a footprint of 37 square meters. However, the one must admit, it divides into two distinct phases. One, 3.5 meters above the terrestrial battleground, takes up 22 square meters, while the other, a mere half a meter high, boasts of 5 square meters.
The expansive upper parcel is 12 meters wide but recedes 1 meter deep. The stairs to the veritable upper echelons ascend a staggering 13 meters. Archaeological excavation operations revealed pottery shards, but the residents of the settlement, the reasons for its bizarre existence, and the ultimate objectives remain as veiled as a magician's sleight of hand, despite the digging done.
