Opposite the 19th-century Ponti della Valle in Valle di Maddaloni sits the Monumento Ossario ai Caduti garibaldini. This monument is a memorial dedicated to the fallen soldiers of Giuseppe Garibaldi, who died during the Italian Unification battles. The monument, designed by Carmelo Destino, features bronze statues and stone high-reliefs by Enrico Mossuti. Giuseppe Cozzolino constructed the monument. The Monumento Ossario ai Caduti garibaldini is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage, along with the Carloine Aqueduct built by Luigi Vanvitelli to carry water from Mount Taburno to the Royal Palace of Caserta.
