The event is one that appears to suggest that perhaps our greatest actress ever grew up merely a hundred meters from the national stage, Dramaten. During her early years, Ingrid Bergman lived at Strandvägen 3, next to her father Justus Bergman's photo studio. Ingrid Bergman was admitted to the Dramaten elev school in 1933, where Greta Garbo had studied a few years earlier. However, Bergman chose to drop out of the training prematurely in order to instead focus on a film career. It managed to become nine films on Swedish soil before she left the country for Hollywood. During her later visits to Stockholm, the Hollywood star preferred to stay at Strand Hotel, which offers a view of the childhood home across Nybroviken.
