In the start of his career, the future match stick king and financier Ivar Kreuger lived in an apartment at Strandvägen 7C. In the 1920s, he acquired a majority stake in the world's matchstick production and several large industrial conglomerates. At one point, he even lends money to foreign states. After the stock market crash on Wall Street in New York in 1929, however, the empire began to falter, and in March 1932, Kreuger shot himself in his apartment in Paris.
