The Music, Puppetry, and Theatre Museum in Stockholm's Interactive Journey

The Swedish Museum of Performing Arts, founded in 2010 and reopened in 2017, is located in the heart of Stockholm, near Gamla Stan and Kungsträdgården. The museum showcases dance, music, and theatre in a unique manner, presenting a storyline rather than following a chronological order. This collection spanning 60,000 objects includes stage designs, handwritten song texts, and premiere pieces. The museum boasts at least 6,000 musical instruments, as well as puppets, marionettes, and costumes. One interactive activity that sets the museum apart is the gestrument, an aggregation between gesture and instrument that allows visitors to make music by moving their bodies. The Swedish Museum of Performing Arts originated from a merger of the Music Museum, Theater Museum, and Puppet Museum.
