Located in the scenic Anykščiai municipality, in the Lašinių village of Anykščių region, Lithuania, the mysterious Lašiniai Hillfort has fascinated archaeologists for centuries. First discovered in 2004 by Gintautas Zabiela, this fort dates back to around 2000 BC. However, recent archaeological discoveries in 2025 have unearthed new evidence of a complex and dynamic settlement at the site, including the destruction of the hillfort by fire, hinting at a possible violent end and conflict or social unrest that may have led to its abandonment.
