Constructed between 1901 and 1930, the Hospital de Sant Pau in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, is a quintessential example of Catalan modernisme architecture. With 12 pavilions interconnected through extensive underground galleries, it is the largest Art Nouveau complex extant. Initially functioning as a hospital, it relocated many of its operations to a new building in 2003, while some departments remained in the original structures. The complex underwent restoration to transform it into a museum and cultural center, reopening in 2014. Today, it stands as a significant historical and architectural treasure, hosting esteemed entities such as the WHO and UN-HABITAT.
