The Atesninkai Hillfort, located in Lithuania's Alytus District Municipality, is an individually registered hillfort of regional significance with no settlement at its foot. Discovered by I. Kalvarija-Gilys in 1954, this oval hill is situated 800 meters from the highway and 150 meters to the west (left) from the highway, accessible by walking through the field. The hill, made of calcareous soil and dated to the first half of the 1st millennium AD, is an oval hill, the center being a flat peak, 25x12 meters in size with a 1.5 meter wide terrace, 1.5 meters below the center of the hill. The height of the hill above the ground is up to 7 meters, the flat peak is only 3 meters high. However, the findings and cultural value from the 1954 survey by the Institute of History are yet to be disclosed.
