Verstaminų II piliakalnis

Verstaminų II, located near Verstaminai, in Lazdijų region, is not a hill but a hillfort, discovered in 1965 by the Institute of History. It is dated from the 1st to the 2nd century AD. Among the artifacts found in the hillfort, are graves and relics, hinting at the power and wealth of the forgotten kings. The hillfort is owned by the Lithuanian National Museum. It is surrounded by a wall, 3 meters high during the day and 5 meters high at night, with a ditch enclosure of 11.5x9 m in size, encased by a 60 m wall, 6 m high.

The walls of the hillfort are approximately 5-6 meters high, and the hillfort is eroded and overgrown. The protection of the cultural heritage site was declared by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania for the distribution of cultural heritage. The area of the cultural heritage site is 6300 m², and the area of the physical protection zone is 10000 m².
