The Triangular Mystery: Alantos Hill's Hidden Archaeological Treasure

Alantos Hill, a mysterious triangular plateau, is the home to Aluntėlės Kalnelis, an ancient archaeological site nestled in the Molėtų region of Lithuania. Dating back to the 1st century, the site is situated at the village of Pakryžė. The hill fort's unique triangular shape, with a base of 33 meters and a height of 27 meters, is oriented towards the west-northwest. The pedestal under the hill covers an area of 0.3 hectares, where pottery was discovered. Alantos Hill is protected by the Lithuanian government's cultural heritage preservation order – 1998-05-19 (Nr.612). A visual protection zone of 523,000 square meters has been established. Despite the mystery surrounding its specific identification, Alantos Hill remains a vital archaeological site in Lithuania.
